The London Summit of Leaders will take place in the famous historical place of London Institute of Directors (IoD) on 15 – 17 April, 2014. The Institute of Directors is a UK-based organisation, founded in 1903 and incorporated by royal charter in 1906 to support, represent and set standards for company directors. It occupies grade I Listed premises on Pall Mall, London built 1826-28 to the designs of John Nash. 116 Pall Mall has a wealth of history and has been the home of the IoD since 1978 when the United Services Club, founded for the use of senior officers in the army and navy, closed down. As a crown estate owned building, the IoD were given the premises on the condition that all of the club’s original fixtures and fittings would be retained and this is still done today. The London headquarters of the Institute of Directors are housed at 116 Pall Mall as well as being one of the most popular business venues in the capital with thousands of IoD members and their guests visiting the premises every week, the building is also a landmark of London’s great Georgian Heritage. Over 1,500 people enjoy the facilities at 116 each day. The building is still owned by the Crown Estate and is Grade I listed. The IoD is therefore responsible for ensuring that the glory and heritage of the building, its décor and its contents are preserved and maintained for the benefit of members, their guests and future generations. You can find out more about this historical place if you visit our London Summit of Leaders (15 – 17 April, 2014, 116 Pall Mall, IoD, UK).
