The Lord Stablish Your Heart Unblameable In Holiness As Paul demonstrated his deep love for the Thessalonians, he prayed they would also have a deep love for one another, and toward all men, and that God would stablish their hearts in holiness (i.e., set fast in holiness; turn resolutely to holiness; confirm and strengthen in holiness). 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 - The Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, ...at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. PRINCIPAL - Teachers God gives teachers to instruct us in the right, and reprove us in the wrong. Solomon often associated instruction and reproof (Proverbs 5:12; 6:23; 8:33; 10:17; 12:1; 13:1,18; 15:5,32). Paul told Timothy that All scripture is given by inspiration of God, ...for reproof, ...for instruction in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16. Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured, Proverbs 13:18. 1200 pages of life-shaping Bible truths must not be mishandled by novice teachers. Truth must be thoroughly taught by God-fearing, learned teachers. Ephesians 4:11 - ...some, teachers. PRINCIPLE - Speaking The Truth In Love Builds Up The Church Paul juxtaposed the five-fold ministry against despicable men who usurp power and influence in the Church - men of cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. Crafty deceivers! You have seen them. They narrowly preach pet doctrines which appeal to itching ears, but never preach the core values of the Word of God. The remedy for that situation is that true men must speak the TRUTH in love, so the Church will grow mature in Christ. Ephesians 4:15-16 - But speaking the truth in love, ...maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. PROPHECY - The Prize Of The High Calling Of God In Christ Jesus Sooner or later, someone will certainly find some fault in your walk with God. But there is no reason to react to such denigrations. Paul admitted that he had not attained to perfection, still he pressed toward the mark, expecting to receive the prize from Jesus Christ for heeding His call. Philippians 3:13-14 - Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
