The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. (Psalms 34:18 NLT) My heart is full to overflowing and my tear ducts are empty after a night of ministry at Naomi and Ruth House near Grand Falls. I cannot begin to tell you how impactful being there was for me. To hear the stories of the 16 women residing there is to be taken down the darkened stairwell of the effects of human depravity to the depths of despair. Once arriving in the basement of their brokenness, to hear about how the love and hope of Jesus is making the difference, ushered in through faithful and compassionate messengers Francine Allain, her husband Norman and their team, brought great joy. The shattered lives of these women are truly being transformed by the One who comes alongside the bruised and broken, for a bruised reed, He will not break and a smoking candle, He will not snuff out Isaiah 42:3. Beauty is truly emerging out of the ashes of these womens lives. A special thanks to Francine and Norm for opening their home and more importantly their hearts to these ladies. I would also like to thank our Bridges of Canada Prison Ministry team for their faithful service to the hurting, it was truly a joy to be with them for this incredible experience. The need for this type of ministry is overwhelming as evidenced by Francine stating that she has a waiting list of over 20 women. We also discussed the opening of The Sarah Tracy Centre for Women in June. Thank God help is on the way, for the need is so great. With a Heavy yet Hopeful Heart, Richard
