The Lord of The Rings trilogy was a labor of love. Made against all the odds by an underdog director and his own hand-picked crew and actors. Much like the fellowship of the ring they were bound by friendship and respect for each other. The Hobbit movies, on the other hand, are commercial blockbusters made mainly in order to cash in on the LOTR hype. We all love Tolkien, the characters and Middle Earth. But, at the same time we realize that much of the magic and passion just is not there anymore. I will remember and cherish the LOTR movies until the day I die. I have probably watched the extended versions alone a dozen times so far. I will not watch the Hobbit movies even twice. Gratefully, The Silmarillion is actually not in danger of being put on the screen. Lets hope this will not change and the last gem from our beloved Professors chest of wonders will not be destroyed as The Hobbit was. So, farewell. https://youtube/watch?v=q8ir8rVl2Z4
