The Lord prompted me to step in between two men about to fight each other today at a line in McDonalds. One of the men had boy with him who looked about 8. I was sure that I was called to intervene; but after they got their orders they began staring each other down again... when the taller of the two charged the other one. My years of bar security kicked in and I quickly jumped between them again... and when I realized I didnt have any words for them that was going to ease the situation, I crossed my hands and called on my Heavenly Father to make His presence known at that very moment... and as I stood between, leaning against the tall standing table, I heard a lady shout out Look this guy is praying!. She gave a little giggle and said bring some of that prayer over here!. I opened my eyes and the dad and boy were gone, with nothing left but the taller aggressive man, who now was apologizing to me and trying to make excuses for his behavior. I didnt even look at him as he pleaded... I just kept telling him that Jesus loved him and that Jesus loved the other guy too. He finally just gave in and said alright man in a very defeated tone. Now this was a pretty cool experience... but it was specially cool considering how man times Ive been one of these two guys... or maybe even used physical force to break sonething like this up. This time was different. Instead of the crowd cheering for a fight, the cheers were in recognition of the presence of our Lord through prayer. I will remember Gods power and how it turned the tide today, for a long time.
