The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace (Psalm 29:11) Wish I could say that if we just pray enough or just get committed enough as Christians that this coming year will be all roses. Some preachers may tell you that, but the truth is, Scripture never promises us freedom from trials. Scripture does promise, however, that your faithful God is with you. Oh, to walk closely with Him means we are leaning on Him every step of the way. Yeah, life may bring some tough things my way tomorrow or next week. But the God who goes with me gives me more than enough strength to march through it. Oh, worrisome issues and troubles may abound all around. But the God who goes with me brings an overwhelming peace to my heart right in the midst of it. Our God is not a genie in the bottle that we rub just right and say the certain words and get what we want. He is our best friend, the One who never fails to see us through, the One who somehow can bring tremendous beauty even when our life seems to be nothing but ashes. Oh, He may not spare you from the ashes, but you just lean in closer. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. It brings tremendous joy to His heart to take our failures and our tragedies and turn them for His glory. Yeah, for His glory. Your life shall bring Him great glory. Your faithful God shall see you through and He shall bring good beyond measure from your life.
