The Lost Symbol – Dan Brown 7 hours and 20 minutes approx (Yes I time my reading) Looking for an easy pleasurable read? You are definitely at the wrong place. This book has much more to offer than plain edgy fiction. Each page of this book is entrusted upon with knowledge that might captivate your brain and push you towards the verge of almost gospel truths of your own conscious. Trust me the Wikipedia summary of this book is a sheer insult of this masterpiece. Going by that you wouldnt even want to pick this book up. I did the mistake and was proved horribly wrong only when I had read just the first few pages. The book is so well crafted , with facts from history that your respect for your own scriptures will increase by multiple folds. It focuses on the very basic facts that all discoveries that are being made are actually rediscoveries and have been found and written about in scriptures all around the world. This book is compelling to a point that you wouldnt want to keep it down until you finish it but if you are an empathetic reader please I beg you, control your urge to read further after every few pages if you want its message to seep deep within as well want your pulse to stay in control. The sudden revelations in this book might leave you baffled gasping for breath. Talking about the plot its extensive, summarizing would only increase the confusion. Yet what I can say is it is a story of a symbolist Robert Langdon who is tricked into finding the symbol which is the key to ancient secrets. A very tactfully laid plan by a man who wants to conquer. Whatever said in the praise of the book is too little. A book to be preserved and read and re read several times because it imparts a lot of knowledge which our brain is highly unlikely not ready to process yet. PS- I absolutely love the way Mr. Brown gives power and control to his female protagonist making them fierce , intelligent and a little smarter than the male lead.
