The Lucky Fiona Family has heavy hearts this morning over the news - TopicsExpress

The Lucky Fiona Family has heavy hearts this morning over the news of Liliths passing. Jennifer Haverty please know we are thinking of you and your pack as you deal with this tremendous loss. 2 and a half years ago Jennifer went to a shelter to pick up a beagle (a breed shes committed many rescue efforts towards) and discovered a senior blind (and mostly deaf) setter. I selfishly like to think she took a shine to setters because of all the Setter Love we flaunt around here at Lucky Fiona but the truth is Jen just has a tremendous heart. She took this creature in to foster and soon fell in love with Lilith and officially made her a part of the Beagle Bungalow Ive always held such high esteem for this act. Not only saving this dog from what would have been euthanasia given her advanced age and special needs but for truly defining the word rescue. Jennifers posts throughout the years have shared the journey of loving this dog and truly appreciating all she had to offer. There was no pity, just true love for all the gifts Lilith still possessed and shared with her new family. I had the unique pleasure of meeting Jennifer in person when I traveled to Florida this past May and was so honored to spend time with a truly kindred spirit. Take a moment today to appreciate your canine companions and be thankful there are people in the world like Jennifer who take in dogs that many others would see as too old and too debilitated. Lilith had an ending to her life rich in love, we should all be so lucky.
