The Lyric Theatre and the Virginia Tech Center for Autism Research are hosting a SAFE (Supporting Autism Friendly Entertainment) showing of Guardians of the Galaxy at 4:15, Thursday, September 18. This is expected to be the first in a series of special SAFE screenings to be held for family friendly films. We will be making the following accommodations to patrons with special needs: • Lights will be low but not off • Volume will be turned down • There will be no trailers at the beginning of the film • Patrons will be allowed to bring their own food (for dietary restrictions) • Movie goers are able to stand up and/or move around the cinema as needed From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team--the Guardians of the Galaxy.
