The MTSAT-2 visible imagery from 0132 UTC and the 0000 UTC Geocolor satellite shows several active systems that are quite intense. In the central Pacific, post-tropical Phanfone is currently a 949 hPa hurricane force low and has built seas to 13 meters (43 ft) in the strong core of winds south of the low center. In the W Pacific, Super Typhoon Vonfong is south of Japan, and the 0300 UTC JTWC advisory indicates sustained winds to 145 knots. The 00Z Unified Surface Analysis shows Vongfong with a central pressure of 914 hPa! In addition, JTWC also indicates Tropical Cyclone Hudhud in the Bay of Bengal.
