The Majestic review: its no secret that when actors step out of their typecasting roles the can occasionally surprise you and Jim Carreys portrayal of a young American screen writer suffering from amnesia is most certainly such a performance. Though the films title doesnt tie so closely to the movie as a whole as some might expect, it was defiantly an enjoyable experience with a few good laughs here and there, but on the more serious side of things the film deals, to a certain degree, with the Hollywood Black List of celebritys and the Red Scare of the Cold War, though these elements remain pretty minor for a minority of the film. The best that can be said about this film, it was cute and entertaining as well as a great noncomedic role for Jim Carrey to preform. Bravo Jim!
