The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) has begun preliminary construction on the MD 97 (Georgia Avenue)/Randolph Road Interchange Project in Montgomery County. Weather permitting, the project should be complete mid 2017. The project will improve traffic operations for vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians in the Glenmont area, facilitate access to the Glenmont Metrorail Station, support current and planned development in the region and MD 97 and improve traffic flow on Randolph Road. The project also includes constructing retaining walls. To reacquaint the public with the project, SHA has scheduled an Informational Workshop for: Tuesday, September 30, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. John F. Kennedy High School (Cafeteria) 901 Randolph Road, Silver Spring Project displays will be available for public viewing and project team members will be available to address questions or concerns about the work. There will be no formal presentation. A copy of a postcard mailer that will begin to arrive at address within/neat the work zone is attached.
