The Mauritius Labour Party should, henceforth, function as a modern and efficient party. The Constitution of the party, adopted in 2001, should be fully adhered to, in particular clauses 10,11,12,13,16,17,19,20 and 21. The Constitution of the party, which has until now remained a secret document, should be posted on the website of the party for transparency and greater accountability. A five point programme should be elaborated forthwith: 1. The Polit-Bureau(National Working Committee) should meet once a forthnight as per clause 11 of the Constitution. 2. The National Executive Committee should meet once a month as per clause 10 of the Constitution. 3.The Local Committees around polling stations should be reorganized as per clause 16 of the Constitution. The Constituency Labour Party in each constituency should be reorganized and meet once a month as per clause 17 of the Constitution. 4. The National Policy Forum, the Womens League, Young Labour and Labour Students should be restructured as per clauses 12, 19, 20 and 21 of the Constitution. 5. The headquarters of the party at Guy Rozemont Square should be rebuilt and a proper secretariat set up. The phoenix will then rise from its ashes.
