The Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the Mayor and Council Chambers at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave. Monday’s agenda includes: • A presentation of the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center facility conditions assessment and recommendations for enhancements. • Introduction of amendments to the City’s animal control ordinance to require the licensing of cats and ferrets, create new requirements for tethering and sheltering animals, establish a trap-neuter-return program for feral cats, allow chickens and goats in the city under certain conditions, and update fees and fines related to the ordinance. • A consent agenda that includes awards of a rider contract for the retrofit on lights at the Broome Middle School Athletic Park and a three-year contract extension for HVAC services, and authorization to file an amendment to the zoning ordinance allowing the Historic District Commission (HDC) to file Historic District zoning map amendments. • A discussion with District 17 State Senator-Elect Cheryl Kagan. • Quarterly reports from the Rockville Chamber of Commerce and Rockville Economic Development Inc.
