The McLaughlin Group, a public television political talk show had been parodied on Saturday Night Live many years ago, but the show continues to be mostly a parody of itself. This is especially evident at the end of the show, when its moderator, John McLaughlin, calls out in his stern, deep voice, Predictions! Each member of his panel then offers their prediction for the next week or the next few months or perhaps further off into the future. Then, Mr. McLaughlin himself offers his own prediction, and the last show offered a doozie. You see, over recent years, probably since weve had a black President, John McLaughlin has revealed himself to be more and more of an old white guy patsy for the Republican Party, and his prediction offered at the end of his show last week displayed a kind of wishful thinking that I thought was so preposterous that I should post it on-line. After the Republicans take the Senate, Mr. McLaughlin predicted, the Democrats... THE DEMOCRATS, he said... will be clamoring to repeal Obamacare!!
