The Medicare Access to Radiology Care Act (MARCA) bill, H.R. 1148, would allow facilities to bill Medicare for medical imaging services performed by qualified radiologist assistants under the direction of a supervising radiologist. Passage of MARCA would lower the Medicare supervision level from personal to direct, allowing the RA to work more independently and be more efficient. This would enable radiologists to devote more focused time reviewing and interpreting complex medical images or urgent cases, thus increasing access to care. Please contact your representatives on Capitol Hill and ask them to support H.R. 1148.
