The Melbourne Cup brought Melbourne weather today (thunderstorms, rain, sun, smog and cold), but it was a great day for the Brigades of Lowan Group to do a group training exercise as soon as the Race That Stops a Nation had finished. Yanac Rural Fire Brigade hosted training this year with exercises focusing on sourcing water, vehicle control (some trucks did become bogged in the sands of Yanac), branch control, LPG cylinder training and burn over practice. A debrief, BBQ, beverages and yarns finished off a busy day for the Brigades of Lowan Group.
