The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The most difficult and the hardest prayers for the hypocrites are the Isha and the Fajr (prayers). Had they known what (the reward of) the Isha and the Fajr is, they would have come to attend them even if they had to crawl.” [Sahih Bukhari] One day a man came across Shaitaan and not wanting to lose the opportunity asked him, “What can I do to be like you?” Shaitaan replied, “Woe and shame on you! No one so far has asked such a thing from me.” The man insisted, “But I want to be like you!” So Shaitaan replied in pure joy, “In order to be like me you have to give up prayer and you have to swear to lies now and then.” Thereupon, the man burst in anger, “I promise to Allah Almighty that I will never give up my prayers and I shall never vow lies.” Shaitaan was now fuming in anger and fury, “Nobody has been able to learn anything from me through deception so far. From the very first day that I was banished from the court of the Almighty, I vowed not to advise people for their own good. Shame and woe on me!” [Abu’l Lays Samarkandi, Tanbihu’l Ghafileen]
