The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was granted various miracles by Allah, the Exalted. His greatest miracle is the Noble Qur’aan, which was revealed 1400 years ago, and nobody has been able to change a single letter or produce its imitation.Other miracles of Allah’s Messenger include splitting of the moon, flowing of water from amongst the fingers of Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) as Jabir Ibn Abdullah (radhi allahu anhu) related, “I was with the Prophet, and the time for the Asr prayer became due. We had no water with us except a little which was put in a vessel and was brought to the Prophet. He (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) immersed his hand into it, and spread out his fingers and then said, “Come along! Hurry up! All those who want to perform ablution. The blessing is from Allah.” I saw water gushing out from the fingers of the Prophet! The people performed ablution and drank, and I tried to drink more of that water (beyond my thirst and capacity), for I knew it was a blessing. The sub-narrator said, ‘I asked Jabir, ‘How many persons were you then?’ He replied, ‘One thousandfour hundred men.’” - Saheeh al-Bukharee (7/543) Abi Saeed al-Khudri (radhi allahu anhu) narrated another miracle that while a shepherd was amongst his sheep, a wolf suddenly attacked and took a sheep away. The shepherd chased the wolf and took back his sheep. The wolf sat on its tail and addressed the shepherd saying, “Be afraid of Allah. You have takenfrom me the provision which Allah gave me.” “What an AMAZING thing! A wolf sitting on its tail, and speaking to me in the language of humans! ” said the shepherd in amazement. “Shall I tell you something MORE AMAZING than this?” continued the wolf. “There is Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in Yathrib (Madinah)informing the people about the news of the past.” The shepherd proceeded (towards al- Madinah) driving his sheep along till he entered al-Madinah. He cornered his sheep, came to Allah’s Messengerand narrated the whole incident. Allah’s Messenger ordered the proclamation of a congregational prayer; he then came out and asked the shepherd to narrate the story – and then declared, “He (the shepherd) has spoken the truth. By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, the Day of Resurrection will not be established until the beasts of prey speak to the human beings, and the stick lash and the shoe-laces of a person speak to him and his thigh informs him about the family as to what happened to them after him.” See, Musnad Ahmad vol: 3, page: 83 Also amongst the Prophet’s miracles was that his companions heard the Prophet’s meal glorify Allah. [Saheeh al-Bukharee (56/779)], and the stones greet the Prophet when he passed though the lanes of Makkah.
