The Meteorology Department today said that showery weather will continue in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Northern and North-Western provinces while very heavy rain fall (about 150mm) is also expected at some places. There is a high possibility for increasing of winds speed over the Southwestern parts of the island and over the sea areas off the Western and Southern coasts by tomorrow (8) morning, the weather advisory issued by department’s Early Warning Centre said. On sea conditions expected tomorrow morning, the Met Department said that winds will be Westerly or Southwesterly direction and speed will be 30-40kmph. The deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Galle may be very rough and dangerous as the winds can be strengthen up to 70kmph at times, it said.
