The Methodist Chapel on Leonard street, This chapel has been on this site since 1868, It has a seating capacity of 600, the largest in the town and now is in serious danger of becoming another one of Bingleys lost Victorian icons . The congregation is now down to 10 ! and the churches head seems to think that any less than double figures means that the church is no longer viable. The chapel is in real danger of being lost for ever. It has the first organ built by Crosshills builders Lacock and Bannister. The organ needs repair and as I understand a group from the Chzec republic will pay a mere £500 , for the organ , come and dismantle it and take it home, such a shame for this important instrument and a sad loss to the Bingley area . I know all of you on this page will dread another loss such as this.
