The MiWORC Team is pleased to invite you to attend its presentation of the key research findings in its draft report on the impact of low skilled migration in the agriculture sector which will be held on Friday 31 October. Based on months of fieldwork in Mpumalanga and Johannesburg and over 80 in-depth interviews with workers, farm owners and key informants, the report examines the role played by foreign labor in South Africa’s commercial agricultural sector with a focus on policy, labor conditions, mobilization, and workplace relationships between foreign and local workers, and with employers. This presentation will provide an opportunity for the research team to incorporate comments and inputs from the public, civil servants and key stakeholders before finalization and dissemination.
