The Miami-Dade County Youth Fair will host five days of school field trips in March-April 2015, when students from pre-school to middle school and exceptional classmates of all ages enjoy the excitement of The Youth Fair with free admission. Last year 42,000 Miami-Dade County students attended the Youth Fair’s five school field trip days. In its 64th year, The Youth Fair annually dedicates the fairgrounds to students by age group in cooperation with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Students have the opportunity to explore the fairgrounds, see thousands of exhibits, learn about agriculture, take in the rides, sample the food and tour special events designed just for them. Youth Fair field trip dates: March 13, 2015 Elementary grades 3-5, all Regions March 18, 2015 Middle School grades 6-8, Central Region March 19, 2015 Middle School grades 6-8, North and South Regions April 1, 2015 Pre-School, Kindergarten and grades 1-2, all Regions April 2, 2015 Exceptional students, all Regions The Youth Fair is open exclusively to students, teachers and chaperones only on the five dates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Youth Fair opens to the general public on the above dates at 3 p.m. To help schools defray the cost associated with educational fieldtrips, Target is offering 3,600 field trip grants of $700 each to K-12 schools nationwide. Applications are available online and are being accepted through noon Sept. 30 at https://corporate.target/corporate-responsibility/grants/field-trip-grants. Fairgoers will get three extra days of fun at the 2015 Youth Fair, which announced in July that it added a fourth weekend to extend the calendar dates from March 12 to April 5. The Youth Fair will get a chance to rest before and after the Miami-Dade County Public School’s spring break by closing the gates for two Mondays and two Tuesdays, March 16-17 and March 30-31.
