The Michigan House has given the green light to supporters backing a measure to name Interstate 75 after the Tuskegee Airmen who made history more than sixty years ago. The state senate has not taken up the bill yet but many feel it is going to pass. Retired Captain Earl Thompson has pushed for this project for a long time and said,it would mean a lot, without these guys I wouldnt be able to do what I did. David Rutledge who introduced the bill said a portion of the highway isnt enough, By authoring a bill that would memorialize I-75 from our northern border to our southern border as a Tuskegee Airmen Memorial highway. At a ceremony honoring the Tuskegee Airmen he said, It would be significant to our young people coming up. If approved Michigan will be the third state along Interstate 75 to officially request naming the roadway after the Tuskegee Airmen,
