The Mid Canterbury Mountain Bike Club will be holding a Christmas - TopicsExpress

The Mid Canterbury Mountain Bike Club will be holding a Christmas Chocolate Fish Race on Tuesday 10 December. This will be a team relay (teams will be organised on the night by race organisers) and will be starting and finishing at the Allenton Rugby Clubrooms, Melrose Road, at 6:30pm. Riders will need to be registered by 6:15pm please and entry fees will be $2 for club members, $5 for non club members. The first rider for each team will ride through the Allenton grounds and follow the River Track course along the stockbank, through The Playground, up and over Dump Hill, through the track to the right at the bottom of Dump Hill (now named eCan Wiggle) then a hard right hand turn at the Graveyard. Riders will then return back through the Whoop-de-Doos and Wiggles and Waggles to the Allenton Clubrooms. There will be cones and signage to ensure no-one misses the turn! When the first rider returns to the Allenton grounds there will be a rider challenge which acts as your teams baton change. The next rider will then complete the same course and rider challenge and so on until each team member has completed the course. If there are sufficient numbers there will be Junior (under 17) as well as Senior teams. Following racing there will be a BBQ with sausages and patties, kindly provided by McDonalds Ashburton. This will be a great opportunity to catch up with fellow riders and swap stories before the Christmas rush. The Allenton Clubrooms bar may be open for refreshments. Family members are welcome to come along to the BBQ. There will be team prizes for the relay as well as spot prizes for Best Dressed (Christmas theme) and Ridin Old School (brush the cobwebs off your oldest bike and take it for a spin on the track!) We may also have a special visitor for the kids to round off the night. For more information please contact the club midcanterburymtbclub@gmail
