The Midnight Sermon: If you dont like hard truths... you wont like this so dont read it unless you are about moving your life forward. Yesterday I spoke with someone who has been in the NFL for a year. He was cut last year mid-season and his question was Do you think I still have a window of an opportunity to play? The old me would have said Of course you do and I would have went on to point out the reasons and I would have pumped him up and motivated him. The bad news is... that old me doesnt exist anymore. The good news... Theres a new me in town. If you have to ask me that question... then you already know the answer to the question. He sat there and looked confused. What do you mean I already know, I dont know - Thats why I am asking you. he replied. Heres where I got brutally honest with him. If you have to ask me that question, the answer is NO. You have no chance. Of course you dont have a window of opportunity. The mere fact that youre looking for some external validation from someone means that youre coming from a very weak inner-game. Weak inner game means NO CHANCE... especially in the NFL. You lack the power and certainty required to make it in the NFL. The NFL stands for Not For Long. You lack power and certainty in yourself... you dont deserve to be there. The NFL has the best of the best of the best football players not just physically but mentally. You cant afford to be weak in your inner-game. You cant afford to waiver and doubt. You cant afford to have a weak mind-set. Whats the point... If YOU are going to the top of the mountain in your life, whether it be in business, family, spirituality, sports... You cannot walk around asking others for validation. You must come from a very dominant, powerful, certain inner stance. Im not talking about confidence. I am talking about certainty. I am NOT confident that I love my wife. I am CERTAIN that I do. I am NOT confident that I have 3 sons. I am CERTAIN that I do. I am NOT confident there is a being who I call God. I am 100% CERTAIN there is. Where are you coming from? Power or weakness? If you lack power and certainty you can change that. I saw this in sales guys I recruited, coached and trained. Sales is easy. Its getting the guys to SEE who they really are and to be powerful. This is why we preached habits of excellence and doing hard things. I knew if I could help them with their power and certainty they could sell. Its the old quote that says An arm of deer led by a lion will beat an army of lion led by a deer. Theres no substitute for having the mindset and inner-stance of a warrior, a champion, a winner. Give me someone with a powerful inner-game (power and certainty in who they are) and Ill show you a winner who will win at everything they do. You are no different from NFL players. You either have that eye of the tiger, power and certainty, inner-stance... OR You dont. You dont fake it till you make it. You get highly committed, ruthlessly and relentlessly committed and you shift your inner game to that of power and certainty. Are you ready to shift? Setema Gali - The Reverend of the Revolution
