The Mirror is reporting that Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers had asked the former Barcelona keeper Valdes,, now a free agent, to prove his fitness by coming on a four-day visit to the Reds Melwood training ground. But Valdes, 32, who is recovering from a serious knee injury, rejected the request. also Liverpool are favourites to land Dele Alli from MK Dons. The teenage midfielder, a Liverpool fan, has been watched by the Reds since breaking into Karl Robinson’s first team last season. Although Everton and Tottenham have also been monitoring the 18-year-old – who has scored six goals so far this season – Liverpool are in pole position. Alli has also been linked with Chelsea and Man United, who saw his talent at first hand when they were crushed 4-0 at MK Dons in the Capital One Cup. A fee in the region of £9million has been mooted and Rodgers will firm up that interest when the transfer window opens in January.
