The Missouri Western District Court of Appeals made a momentous decision that could affect the 25,000 docks on the Lake of the Ozarks and could affect every single person that uses the lake. The court sided with an Ashland, Mo. woman whose two children were electrocuted in July 2012 while swimming in the Gravois Arm. Angela Anderson argues that by charging a dock permit fee, Ameren Missouri is charging to use the lake for recreational use and assumes liability in the deaths of her children Alexandra and Brayden. A Morgan County circuit court judge sided with Ameren in November 2013 prior to the appeal. The case will now head to trial in Morgan County.
