The Modesto Bee And News-Herald 27 May 1934 C E Societies Hold Banquet Nearly 150 Members and Friends are Entertained in Presbytarian Church Nearly 150 members, family and friends of the First Presbytarian Church Christian Endeavour Society were entertained Friday night in the church Social hall which had been transformed into a forest dell. A banquet was held, featuring Gypsy food, Gypsy waitresses and Gypsy musicians. The program, under the direction of Mrs Fred Sharp was as folows; Toasts Wilson Shuler, Robert Hoover, Albert Dunn, Ruth Caswell and Margery Houston, group singing led by Jack Hazard with Derald Shuler at the piano, accordion seletion Kathleen Linkhorn; violin duets, Vivian Bradley and Elajean Roen; serlections on saw, Athol Dillingham; whistling solo, Mrs Mildred Christopherson; vocal selections, Junius Vertrees, Zola Haltz and Albert Dunn.
