After years of tyranny and confiscating goods, valuables and art from different countries of Europe, Hitler and his army lost the war and were forced to retreat. According to Hitlers orders as to what had to be done in that instance, all the pieces of art stolen during the war were to be destroyed, just like the livestock, possessions and personal belongings of the millions that crossed their paths with the Nazis. That was last attempt to wipe out the evidence and make future generations forget. As George Stout (played by George Clooney) said: If you destroy their achievements, their history, its like they never existed”. The movie very gently describes horrible times of war and German tyranny. It also shows friendship, the love of art and most of all the importance of history and art in human life. Beautiful story with a small dose of good humour. I would highly recommend to anyone. As for my Jeys :) Hmmm... This is a film based on true story. I think 7 J is fair. P.S.
