The Moral Law of the scriptures set forth by God Himself became the basis of what the western world or Christendom called the Common Law. It was incorporated into the U.S. constitution in the Seventh Amendment. Historically, the Ten Commandments have always been viewed as the embodiment of the Moral law. As signer of the Declaration John Witherspoon affirmed: The Ten Commandments are the sum of the Moral Law.
