The Morning Report The two fields of hay that I wanted to mow; - TopicsExpress

The Morning Report The two fields of hay that I wanted to mow; have been mowed. Now all we need is the rest of the day to be hot sun shining and no rain. Hooking up to the mower is always a pain but it was accomplished and then the blade changing occurred. There are several discs on the mower that have two blades on each disc and each disc takes a different blade than the one next to it, I think that I got them right. I do know that the fields are mowed. Now the tedder will have to be retrieved and then the rake and baler, hopefully we will be done this afternoon. Grayson is so hard headed. He watched me walk to the barn, whistling and hollering for him. He started towards me then stopped and turned back. I then fed the cats and started beating on the feed barrels. He was watching but not moving. Eeyore decided that he would come and slowly started my way. We had some wormer to give to him and when he arrived, he got the wormer and feed. After this I left the barn headed for the chicken pen and Grayson decided that it was time to come to the barn and he came; wide open. Of course then I had to go back there and feed him. The first place he went was Mathew’s stall then he decided that he would come to his feed bucket. All of this just to try to treat him right. While I was mowing the bigger field, I found a place where it looked like something had caught one of the turkeys. And further on I mowed over what I believe to be a turkey’s nest with eggs in it. Of course it was too late when I saw it and all the eggs were broke. I guess if they hadn’t been, I would have found somebody with an incubator and attempted to hatch them out. Oh well I’ll keep looking. We are seeing more deer in field than we usually do. I’ve seen 2 about every other day for a week or so. I guess they like to graze on the green grass also. I was lucky in that Roper didn’t try to tell me how to hook up to the hay mower, so I didn’t have to listen to him while I was working. The garden is about done except for the jalapeno’s and we are picking quite a few of them now. The tomatoes are putting on some tomatoes but they are not doing as well as I would like. I would like to be picking a lot of them now but they just haven’t produced. I guess the best thing is that we still have quite a bit that we did harvest in the pantry and the freezer. Y’all have a great and wonderful day and remember to take a moment to smell the roses!
