The Multicultural Affairs Office at Capital University is beneficial to ALL students. The office celebrates diversity. Everyone is welcome regardless of whether or not they are a minority. Several organizations: Pride, SAAAC, EBA, AAA, SOLA, and Sister Network fall under the MAO umbrella. The office also facilitates numerous educational programs throughout the year. The biggest community wide program is the MLK Day of Learning. That day brings in a large number of community members to celebrate and learn. The MAO also hosts Smooth Transitions which helps first generation college students be successful. The office itself is a safe space for students who identify as LGBTQ. It is a space that enables discussion, sometimes about difficult topics. There is an open door policy. The director is there to serve as a mentor and leader with knowledge of campus resources for any student who needs help. Spread the word and support the MAO!
