The Municipal Government Board (MGB) has scheduled a second preliminary annexation hearing for Monday, January 27, 2014. The hearing will start at 9:00 am and will be held in the Salon Ball Room at the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre located at 11633 – 100th Street, Grande Prairie, AB. We encourage all ratepayers to attend the meeting in order to have the opportunity to discuss the dates of the Merit hearings and to request more information from the City in regards to the annexation. Anyone wishing to make a presentation during the meeting must submit it to the MGB by 4:00 pm on January 22, 2014. The purpose of this second preliminary hearing is to allow the MGB to consider the Countys request for extension to thoroughly review the Citys annexation application. The County believes the extension is required in order to review the new information provided by the City of Grande Prairie. The request for the extension may impact the timing of proceedings however it will allow the County to respond accordingly to the documents and form a legal argument submission upon deadline request. ow.ly/sOq8U
