The Muslim leadership, by and large, in the US and elsewhere says that ISIS is the creation of Israel, the USA and Britain. In other words, they acknowledge that these three countries have the resources, and strength to change Islam from within and motivate thousands of Muslims to kill in the name of God and Islam. If the genuine Muslim leadership is so weak that it cannot defend itself from this ideological onslaught from outside, then they should better resign. ISIS is playing havoc with Islam and destroying it from the core. Yet the leadership is silent. I wish Tariq Ramadan could have focused on this issue. I wish ISNA, ICNA, MPAC, CAIR could have called an emergency summit of Muslim leaders to come up with a plan to deal with these types of groups. I wish that Hamza Yousef and Zaid Shakir could have spoken on this issue with the patience they speak on other issues. I wish if Nouman could have talked about it the way he talks about the Quran. I wish that the traditional scholars and Islamic Fiqh Council could have discussed this issue the same way they discuss moon sighting. Muslim leadership and organizations in the US may claim whatever they want to claim, but they are not playing the leadership role. The future of Islam is at stake and these leaders are drunk in their so called spiritual intoxicants claiming that there exists a conspiracy against Islam. Yet, they fail to see the dangers the so called Muslims are posing to Islam.
