The NAHT Board had a productive meeting with newly named HUD Secretary Julian Castro on October 3 at HUDs DC Headquarters. The Secretary stated that he wanted to meet with NAHT for a reason and valued tenants experience and voices. He was keenly interested in NAHTs vision of mobilizing tenants as the Eyes and Ears of HUD in overseeing HUD housing owners and NAHTs proposals to reduce waste, fraud and abuse. The Secretary agreed to meet with NAHT again in the spring and asked for an invitation to NAHTs June Conference
