The NEA Student Achievement Grants are awarded for proposals that seek to improve student academic achievement with emphasis on the 21st century skills of critical thinking and problem solving that deepen students knowledge of standards-based subject matter. The work should also improve students habits of inquiry, self-directed learning and critical reflection. Proposals for work resulting in low-income and minority student success with honors, advanced placement or other challenging curricula are encouraged. The grants range from $2,000 to $5,000.
