The NFL can be cut throat and brutal especially when money is involved. But isnt that life? Steelers and many other teams cut the fat off their contracts today to pave way for the future blood. Ike Taylor, long-time Steeler, decided albeit wisely that taking a pay cut and staying 1 more year to retire a Steeler is worth it over going into the unknown and just trying to hang-on somewhere. In the NFL, most players have to assume that their contracts are never going to mature they will eventually get cut. Therefore, getting the money up front is the wise thing to do: do you hear me Ricky Williams? Do you hear me Master P?
