The NRAs chief counsel is evidently not a good guy with a gun. Its just come out that, as a young man, he was convicted of murdering his girlfriends mother. His father later committed suicide with a gun. And the former head of the NRA, the one who turned it radically rightward, had a similar criminal history: convicted of murder, sentence commuted because of police procedural bungling.
