The NWS says an active weather pattern will persist across the Northern Rockies through this Holiday Week. There will be heavy mountain snow this weekend along with strong winds along the front range. Could see a mix of light rain/snow/freezing rain for eastern Montana and the western Dakotas tonight into Monday that could make for slick travel conditions there. Showers will continue across the region Monday into Tuesday though precipitation will be lighter. A stronger system is possible by Christmas Eve with currently a 60 percent chance for snow Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for much southern Montana and northern Wyoming. A chance of a Montana #WhiteChristmas is looking better. Also strong southwest winds are likely this evening through Monday morning along the western foothills. These winds will create dangerous crosswinds along I-90 in the Livingston to Big Timber corridor…as well as area roads around Nye. Drivers of high profile vehicles should plan accordingly and may need to choose an alternate route.
