The NYTimes is STILL the dirtiest paper in America! WOW! (EX: they still CENSOR most of my comments that are insightful, or distort them.) Theres ONLY ONE REASON you censor: CORRUPT INTENT. (The Time has been slammed for moderating the letters, and their reasons were laughed at by almost everyone.) EXAMPLE: My ONE comment they printed in their silly Art is NOT dead in NYC! by me was this: nyc 7 hours ago [ppl were attacking the stuff listed in the article..] ART is creative expression. Any creative deviance from the norm in this horribly stultifying world is ART. (Can someone explain to me why, say, the MTA would rather spend tens of millions painting the subway platform girders-supports daily to cover up graffiti -- and they paint them the bleakest industrial colors! -- RATHER than just allow the ARTISTS of this city to beautify them, free of charge? The subways look like DEATHs colon! Google image Swedens subway stations! What you cn do just with PAINT is amazing, but NYC has been run by anti-fun Republicans for 20 years! Thats why the subway ceilings are all painted the same colors as prisons!) We all need to pressure deBlaz to SAVE millions (by not having to repaint all the vandalized street lamps and other city property and in the subways) and turn over that stuff to ARTISTS, the way you see many storefronts now have great murals on them. (Moreso out in Bushwick.) WHY doesnt govt get pro-active and push for murals on ALL the industrial and war-like steel grates on buildings? Bloomberg boasted of his funding the arts but it was a lie: our taxdollars went to RICH non-profits like the Met so their CEOs could earn millions even faster.) deBlaz has a LOT of work to do after 20 years of the Republicans WAR ON NYC ! [SO WHAT DOES THE TIMES DO? The Moderator POSTS A COMMENT THAT IS TOTALLY INCORRECT inits response to my post! See? The moderator is UN-moderating!] (Look at this stoopid letter:) Andre New York 1 hour ago Christopher... Im a part of the public and I have no desire to see graffiti in the subwaysi... If people want to see graffiti then let them buy space and do it to their hearts content. Well notify you at ch***@gmail when your comment has been approved. christopher x. brodeur nyc Pending Approval Where did I say the subways should be turned over to GRAFFITI? I said the precise opposite: all us artists who can paint, should decorate all of that, without conformity or in any one category, to usurp both the tagging AND the MTAs solution The crappy tagging is awful, but there IS graffiti (?) (not sure thats even the correct word for the elaborate street art) that even the naysayers agree is gorgeous and skilled. nytimes/2014/12/28/nyregion/they-say-art-is-dead-in-new-york-theyre-wrong.html?_r=1
