The Name of Jesus “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God” Acts 3:6-8 Our opening scripture gives us a practical example of how to use the all-powerful Name of Jesus to effect changes in a situation. Reading carefully you would realize that this was not a prayer by Peter, rather, he made a decree in the Name of Jesus, using it as an instrument. If Peter had shouted, “In the name of Caesar, rise up and walk”, nothing would have happened. It had to be “In the Name of Jesus” for that’s the Name above every Name; that’s the Name that unlocks every door! You may have found yourself in a critical situation which seems impossible to get out of by your own ability; don’t despair, through the power in the Name of Jesus, you can walk out of any trouble! The Name of Jesus is so powerful because of the authority conferred on that Name. That’s why everything created responds to the Name of Jesus, Philippians 2:9-11 says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” Use that Name today!
