The Nashville songwriters factory has convinced every writer that to ensure a good country song you must: 1. mention a truck (tailgate preferred), 2. mention a girl (in a sun dress or tank top), 3. mention a beer, 4. mention the night (especially moonlight), 5. add a generic beat, 6. remove any true emotion (especially blues or heartache). The labels then dress the male artists as 1980 preppy rejects and female artists as strippers and sell 50 million singles to irrational, moody pre-teen girls. Then we have an awards show and reinforce the idiocy.
