The National Anthem. A pre-game drill that most of us use to get pumped up to watch our favorite sports team hopefully kick ass so that we can party and holler and talk trash to opposing fans. And all of that is great! I do it every time Im at an Avalanche game (GO AVS!). But do we reduce our Anthem to just that? A pre game warm up? Listen to these girls sing. Great voices? Absolutely. But I believe that even though they are young, they realize that what it is they are SAYING goes further then winning a sports game. I think we all need to HEAR what it is they are saying and realize that its time for us to become PROUD once more because we live in a place were we can go watch sports, party and cuss at our opponents. And that place is represented by a flag. A beautiful flag. A flag that SAYS we are ONE, and that we will fight and die if necessary do defend it. It goes much deeper then red vs blue or shirts vs skins. It is who we are. Lets remember that the next time we are Warming up
