The National Drowning Prevention Alliance is extremely excited to announce our fourth featured speaker for the 2015 Educational Conference..... Bob Bowman, Head Coach of North Baltimore Aquatic Club / US Olympic Swimming Coach Bob Bowman became Head Coach and CEO of the North Baltimore Aquatic Club on September 1, 2008 . Six of Bowman’s swimmers competed in the Beijing Olympic Games with three winning gold medals. Michael Phelps swam to Olympic history by winning 8 Gold medals and became the most successful athlete ever at the games by amassing a career total of 14 golds. Peter Vanderkaay(gold 4 x 200 relay, bronze 200 free) Erik Vendt( gold 4 x 200 relay) and Allison Schmitt(bronze 4 x 200 relay) were medal winners as well. Bowman -coached swimmers have set 43 world records and over 50 American records. He has coached 12 individual swimmers to 65 US National Championships as well as leading Club Wolverine to 10 US National team titles during his tenure. Bob will be speaking on the importance of drowning prevention for swim coaches, swim instructors, and water safety personnel. The Annual NDPA Educational Conference will take place March 11-13, 2015 at the The Westin Dallas Park Central in Dallas, TX. Online registration opens this month.
