The National Rugby Championships are coming to Wade Park in Orange on the 20th September 2014. Emus, Orange City and Ag College have been asked to organise the day, with profits being split between the clubs. A committee is being formed to plan and run the day, and will be made up primarily of Emus and Orange City members. Games The format for the day will be :- · U16 Game (TBA) · Walla’s · Emerging Player v Invitation Team · Country Eagles v Melbourne Rebels We would like to have an Emus v City Walla’s game between the two curtain raisers, with the Walla’s also forming a guard of honour as the teams run onto the field for the main game. This is potentially a very good fund raiser for the club, but we are going to need a LOT of help to make this day a success. We are looking for volunteers to be involved on the committee and more importantly, help the day. If you are able to assist in any capacity, please let me know by return email. If you arent sure about what the NRC is here is a blurb. The National Rugby Championship is Australia’s domestic professional rugby competition created as a second tier competition to the Super 15’s. The competition comprises of 9 teams from QLD, NSW, ACT, Vic and WA. Super Rugby players will be playing in all teams, with the Melbourne Rebels rumoured to have 15 of their Super 15 representatives. The Country Eagles team includes country players along with players from Easts and Randwick. Waratah’s players affiliated with these clubs, that are not in the Wallaby squad, will be playing for the Country Eagles. Once again, if you can help, please let me know or Contact Jan Randall at [email protected]
