The National Universities Commission (NUC), which conducted the Institutional Accreditation in various Universities in Nigeria late last year, visited the University from 27th November to 2nd December, 2011 and conducted the exercise. In a letter containing the result of the exercise, the NUC Executive Secretary, Professor Julius Okojie said based on the exercise conducted across the Universities, Bayero University, Kano scored 71.10% with full accreditation which is valid for 7 years. Professor Okojie congratulated the University for recording yet another milestone in University education in Nigeria. It should be noted that during the NUC November/December Institutional Accreditation Exercise in Nigerian Universities, the Commission evaluated institutional vision, mission and strategic goals; institutional governance and administration, resources, quality of teaching/ learning and research; institutional efficiency, extension services and consultancies, transparency, financial management and stability, as well as general ethos. Bayero University was able to get a grade of A (which is the highest grade) full accreditation status.
