The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is forecasting a chance for freezing rain/sleet across east Texas and central Louisiana on Friday, mainly between 4 am and noon. Less than 0.05 inch accumulation of ice is expected, but this will still cause some slick spots on elevated roads and bridges. Further south in southeast Texas and southwest and south central Louisiana, there is a small chance for freezing rain/sleet Friday morning, but just a trace accumulation is expected. High temperatures Friday afternoon will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s, and frozen precipitation should be ending and light rain will be tapering off. There is a very small chance for freezing rain/sleet in parts of east Texas Saturday morning, but no accumulation is expected. Rain will begin early Sunday morning. Temperatures should be above freezing, but it will be a close call so this will be monitored as we go through the weekend. Next week looks wet, but temperatures warm up enough where frozen precipitation will not be expected.
