The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has released the final tallies of snowfall and ice reports throughout Western GA. Some of the numbers are impressive: Cartersville picked up 8.5 inches, Jackson about an inch, Ringgold was a big winner with 11 inches, Trion hit 7 inches, Waleska 4.8, Whitehall at 3.2, Smyrna at 2.8, Armuchee at 3.5, Roswell at 2.6, Ellijay at 2 even, Calhoun 4 inches, Dacula 5.0, Gainesville 4.0, Dahlonega hit 7.1, Chatsworth 6 even, Paulding Count scattered 2-4 inches, Griffin 2.2 inches, Macedonia 5 inches, Blairsville 8 inches, and finally Dalton with 9. Freezing rain tallies Milledgeville had a half of an inch, Bethlehem had two tenths, Cassville a tenth, Macon a tenth, Villa Rica hit a quarter of an inch, Waleska at .25, Athens .15, Acworth .30, Byron at .25, Redwine .40, Acworth at .30, Decatur at .40, Douglasville at .30, Peachtree City .40, Sylvan Hills at .50, Snellville .25, Locust Grove at .40, Perry at .25, Monticello at .75, Wren had an inch, Wrightsville an inch, Gray at .75, Danielsville at a tenth, Forsyth at .50, Eatonton an inch, Griffin .25, Crawfordville at 1 inch, Thomaston at .30, and Sanderville at .50. We was fortunate enough to notice more cold air turned the precipitation into more snowfall than ice, this spared the region from a deeper disaster for ice. Still was a major impact for everyone.
