The National Youth Development Agency ( NYDA ), Industrial Development Corporation ( IDC ) and the Small Enterprise Finance Agency ( sefa ) will on 22 October 2014 launch the #YouthFund at the Carousel Casino and Hotel, in Hammanskraal, Gauteng. The three institutions have set aside R2.7-billion specifically to provide development funding to youth-owned businesses. Gauteng is the nineth province in which the three institutions will promote the youth funding initiative. Roadshows have taken place in North West, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Free State, Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Western Cape and Northern Cape. The #YouthFund is accessible to young and aspiring entrepreneurs from all provinces who need funding for their businesses. The NYDA will serve as a channel for the screening and recommendation of young entrepreneurs to access the loan finance offered by the IDC and sefa. As part of this partnership youth enterprises can access the NYDA Grant Programme as well as other non-financial business support services such as Mentorship and Market Linkages.
